JUSTIN: HAIR
1997-1999
In his early years, Justin experimented with hair color (mostly bleached blond). He wore his hair shaved or short on the sides with longer curls on top. As the years went on, he grew the curls on top even longer.

2000
This year, Justin grew his curls out, and his “fro” became an infamous part of his style. He also experimented with cornrows, a look that didn’t last long and was criticized by most style critics. I thought they were pretty cute though.

2001
This year, Justin delivered a huge style shocker and shaved his curls off entirely. This was the first time the world would get a glimpse of Justin’s head almost completely hair-free. I almost had a heart attack when this happened, but it all worked out.

2002-2007
In the years following, Justin switched between a buzz cut and short curls with tapered sides. For a time he also experimented with faux hawks.

2008
This year, Justin has kept to his natural dark blond hair, growing the top and keeping the sides shorter.

JUSTIN: CLOTHES
The ‘NSYNC Era
During his years with ‘Nsync, Justin’s style lay safely within the realm of cookie cutter boy band pop aka he wore as many trends in one outfit as possible (i.e. bandanna, sun glasses, ripped jeans or leather pants). Once, Justin even wore a pair of pants that were both ripped jeans and khakis! Despite some of these unfortunate faux pas, for the most part, Justin kept it casual with simple jeans and a tee or sweater. SIGNATURE LOOK: The biggest style statement he attempted lay in his cutom made diamond necklace that contained the initials of his name JRT (see picture on right).

The Justified Era
The release of his first album found Justin trying to find a more mature, urban style to match his new musical content. He experimented with many new hat styles including the fedora, the beanie–both rimmed and unrimmed (a style that still resonates with the boy toys of Hollywood)–and began to add more accessories to his wardrobe, i.e. arm bands and shell necklaces. It was here that Justin mastered his layering skills to complete a more hip and fashionable look. SIGNATURE LOOK: During this time Justin often dressed down a suit with a pair of Nike Air Force Ones and a fitted graphic tee, or wore a rimmed beanie and layered tees over jeans.

Now (or The FutureSex/LoveSounds Era)
With the release of his latest record, Justin became a style icon, maturing contemporary Hollywood fashion with the resurrection of the suit. His streamlined, tailored suits, with a touch of European style (the skinny tie), have set a standard for the way male stars of young Hollywood dress today. It’s been said time and again, but Justin really did bring sexy back with this one. I mean, what’s more attractive than a guy in a suit? Moreover, Justin’s clothing line William Rast is gaining critical acclaim from stylist around the world, a line that is the very definition of Justin’s casual style today – edgy, urban, and country boy all rolled into one. SIGNATURE LOOK: Justin is usually seen wearing a suit or sporting his very own William Rast jeans with a shirt and jacket.

JUSTIN: TATTOOS
Justin has several tattoos all over his body. His back tattoo is in appreciation of his mother and twin sister (who passed away at birth), whom he calls his “Guardian(s).” It is of a cherubic angel with wings (see tattoo). He has multiple tattoos on his right ankle to commemorate his time with ‘NSYNC, one for every album released. In addition, he had his trademark diamond necklace with the initials JRT incorporated into the design. On his left calf is a tribal tattoo with his zodiac sign, Aquarius. He also has another small tattoo on his left ankle of a Chinese symbol meaning ‘music’. His final tattoo can be found on his upper left arm, and it is of a cross.
